Pickwick Bock Goat Chalk Head with Lighted Eyes
Object type
Artifact
- Provenance
- Herb’s favorite beer was Bock and when we discovered this 28” electrified, three dimensional resin goat head at a convention, it was a “must have” item for our collection. Its’ eyes light up, horns are removable and it has a chain and sign with Pickwick Bock. This head was made for the Haffenreffer & Co. Boston, Massachusetts which was in business from 1870-1964. Negotiations began, we were pleased with the dollar amount he wanted, but he also wanted the small collection of Crock beer bottles that I had collected for his collection. The goat was unusual and it really belonged in our collection, so a trade was made.
